One hundred Tibetan kindergartens, primary and secondary schools will establish a mutual-aid relationship with the same amount of counterpart schools in the partner assistance provinces and municipalities during the "13th Five-Year Plan" period (2016-2020), according to Ministry of Education(MOE).

It aims to help Tibetan primary and secondary schools arrange their curriculum more appropriately and reasonably, with the goal of teachers “teaching correctly, successfully and well”.

Recently, MOE issued the instruction “Opinions on strengthening counterpart aid of education to Tibet and Tibetan-inhabited areas in four provinces during the '13th Five-Year Plan' period(2016-2020)”, requiring that around 800 teachers in the partner assistance provinces and from schools affiliated to higher education institutes directly under MOE to aid in Tibet.

"Priorities will be the improvement of education quality in schools of all levels”, said Gao Dahong with Tibet University, pointing out that Tibet paid more attention to infrastructure and capital input in the past.

Cai Shoukuan, head of the Tibet Vocational and Technical Institute, said that more attention should be paid to improve the quality of teachers in primary and secondary schools.

Liu Qunying, a front-line educator, pointed out that the teaching philosophy of teachers from inland has been of great assistance to improve the quality of local teachers in recent years.
