Tax revenue of Tibet’s tertiary industry continues to rise

Tax revenue of Tibet’s tertiary industry reaches 12.71 billion yuan during January – July of 2016, which accounts for 81.9% of the total tax revenue; grows by 29.2% year-on-year, and increases income of 2.87 billion yuan, according to Tibet Daily.  

The increase of tax revenue in tertiary industry is mainly from leasing and business services, wholesale and retail and finance sector, and the newly added categories of transportation, warehousing & postal services, information transmission software and information technology.

The six sectors' added income is 2.8 billion yuan in total and theirs contribution rate to the increase of the tertiary industries reaches up to 97.5%; they have become the backbone in the tax revenue growth of tertiary industry, according to analysis.  

At the same time, tax revenue related to consumption sectors in tertiary industry has grown rapidly. Due to the push from tourists and migration workers, the retail sector's tax revenue has increased by 32%. The wholesale sector has increased by 17.3% with a boost in sales of tobacco products, and medicine and medical supplies. Education, health, and culture & sports and entertainment sectors have increased in tax revenue respectively by 292%, 20%, and 156.8%, showing that there are more and more consumers in Tibet who value quality in education, health and medical care, as well as audio-visual entertainment and other psychological services.
