Chayu is on the edge of Tibet and a crucial county in China. Situated in eastern Nyingchi City, it borders Myanmar and India on the south. The central government made Guangdong Province the supporting province for Nyingchi in 1995, whereas Shenzhen City began supporting Chayu of Nyingchi in 2010. In the last three years, Wang Jianwen, the seventh generation of Aid-Tibet officials of Shenzhen City, has treated the building of China’s border towns his highest priority. He has lived among the people, made connections with everyone, and helped improve Tibet. He found a way to “cultivate the border and maintain harmony in Tibet,” truly helping Tibet in concrete ways and making great inroads, winning praise and gratitude from both the officials and people of Chayu.
