The Climate Center of the Tibet Autonomous Regional Meteorology Bureau on Thursday predicted this year's regreening time of the grasslands in the region.

In an announcement made, the center said that the regreening may occur from late April to early May in the northern part of Tibet and will be early to mid-June in western Tibet and late May to early June in eastern Tibet.

While the regreening in Xigaze and Ngari prefectures' grasslands may be later than usual, it will be a little bit earlier in other areas, the experts of the center said.

The regreening may result from high temperatures and less precipitation earlier this year, according to the experts.

They made the prediction on the basis of their long-term observation of temperatures and weather forecasts from April to May.
