Another 10MW solar-power station to be built in Sangri

Sangri County, Lhoka Prefecture of Tibet Autonomous Region is to have another 10MW solar power station, and the constructer China Guangdong Nuclear Power held an opening ceremony on Sept 8, 2010. 

This will be the second 10MW solar power station in Sangri County and a key project to promote new energy development across TAR. 

The project is planned with an overall installed capacity of 10 WM and a total investment of 230 million yuan, expected to complete in eight months.  

As estimated, half capacity of the station will be first completed and put in use by end of 2010. By April of 2011, the whole synchronized photovoltaic array will be able to provide 10MW in its full capacity to the regional power grid. 

In recent year, Lhoka has taken advantages of local geographic and natural resources to develop solar power for people’s benefits. And the solar power project marks that Lhoka has another leap towards low-carbon economy and new green-energy industry. 

Also, this station construction will further promote the regional economy and society to develop better in a scientific way by strengthening the industrial base and driving transformation of the industrial structures in TAR.
