With the advent of the Shoton Festival, various departments concerned of Lhasa are making their efforts to make the city more attractive to tourists, more culturally advanced, cleaner, and environment-friendly. They are also striving to make the city a role model in support for both the soldiers and their family members as well as those of the martyrs.

Nowadays, streets, parks and squares are decorated with flowers and lawns to build Lhasa a garden-like city.
