Tibet releases over 20,000 artificial endangered fishes

The Agriculture and Animal Husbandry Department of the Tibet Autonomous Region (TAR) has recently released five species of over 20,000 artificial proliferous endangered fishes into the Quxu Section of Lhasa River.

Unique in TAR, the fishes include first-class protected categories of TAR, such as the naked carp.

According to Tsechen, vice director of the TAR Agriculture and Animal Husbandry Department, these fishes were nurtured with the technological results after three years of research on how to reproduce the endangered fishes in TAR. Experts from the Aquiculture Institute of Huazhong Agricultural University, located in Wuhan, capital city of Hubei Province, provided the techonical assistance during the research. 

This activity is aimed to protect the aquatic organisms and help preserve the ecological environment of the waters in TAR.
