Liu Ge, scientist and deputy director of Cold Region Environmental & Engineering Research and Development Center, has engaging in the cyopedology for 12 years. Every May to October, he needs to work in Golmud and gets on the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau to obtain the frozen soil and meteorological observation data. Liu said:“I am dreaming to construct a highway to Lhasa, providing the Tibetans more convenient and swift transportation.”

Ma Xiaona is the commentator of General Building Park and General Mu Shengzhong Memorial Hall. She introduces the buskined history of constructing the Qinghai-Tibet Highway to groups of tourists visiting Golmud. She says: “My wish is to constantly enrich the historical background knowledge and provide tourists more accurate and comprehensive interpretation.”

Lao Zhao from Jiu Quan City of Gansu Province with 15 years working experience, is a professional truck driver on the Qinghai-Tibet Highway. “I hope the Qinghai-Tibet Highway could be completed as soon as possible and the service zone can be more perfect, therefore, driving a truck could not be so hard,” said Lao Zhao.

Sonam Chokyi is a 28 year old Tibetan girl from Zadoi County of Yushu Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture of Qinghai Province. She has driving a motorbike with three other companions as cooks since July 21, and go on a pilgrimage to Lhasa while accompanying 16 fellow-villagers. Every day they walk 5 to 7 kilometers and live in the tents at night. They have been walking on the road for almost two months before getting to Nagchu. “I love dance since the childhood, and begin to practice dance when I was 12. This time when I return from Lhasa to Yushu, I will take the selection test for dancers in Yushu. Although I am older than 25 years old and there is little chance I could be chosen, but dancing is my dream,” said Sonam.
