The crew of 2014 Spring Festival and Losar Television Gala went to the Maizhokunggar County of Lhasa, capital of southwest China's Tibet Autonomous Region to put on a special performance for the local people in Feb. 10, 2014. It was the first time for the crew leaving the studio and walking up to the grass-roots and their programs had won the appreciation of the audience.

At 8:30 in the morning, all over the 60 performers had braved the chilly morning and went to the Maizhokunggar County by bus. They were welcomed by more than 3000 local residents from far and near.

The opening traditional Tibetan opera Tashi Xoiba attracted the enthusiasm of audience, and the following cross talks and comedy skits got more laughing and applause. Except for the professional performers, farmers from the Lhoka Prefecture also presented their group dance Black wool, White wool, reaching the last upsurge of the performance.

Sonam, a villager from the Kunggar Villager of Maizhokunggar County said: "I seldom have the chance to see such a wonderful performance. My favorite programs are the cross talks because their humor makes me feel happy. I hope they come here the next year."

Chudran, a pupil came to see the performance with her family, was so excited when watching the dances that she wanted to be a dancer in the future.

According to the man in charge, it is the first time for Losar Gala walking out of the studio in its 30-year-history. He said: "In addition to the supports from the artists, we need more support from the common people. Thus rather than a special performance as an expression of gratitude, we regard it as an appreciation."
