The Tibetan area of Sichuan Province is located in the transitional zone connecting Qinghai-Tibet Plateau and Sichuan Basin, which is also the source area of Yangtze River and Yellow River.

The terrain tilts from northwest to southeast and the topography is divided into two parts of plateau and alpine valleys. In the area, there are many rivers and valleys, including 570 major tributaries. A variety of natural landscape including forest, snow mountain, glacier, valley and grassland are coexist.

In the Tibetan area of Sichuan Province, there are many famous world-class landscapes.

More than 20 mountains with the elevation of over 6000 meters are around the Gangkar Riwo Mountain which is as high as 7556 meters. The Luding Conch Gully glacier is the world's lowest glacier. The Wenchuan Wolong Nature Reserve is the first panda research center in the world. In addition, there are also the World Natural Heritages, Jiuzhaigou Valley and Yellow Dragon Scenic Area.

Highways newly built lead the tourists into the gorgeous scenic spots and also bring the local Tibetans peace and contentment of life.
