Han Shuli, president of the Tibet Art Association, won the silver award in the 2013 Louvre International Art Exhibition with his work Foresight, which is an important honor of Tibetan art on the international art stages in recent years.

The 2013 Louvre International Art Exhibition was held in the Louvre in Paris of France during Dec. 11 to Dec. 15. Altogether 500 artists from over 10 countries attended the exhibition. The Chinese team including dozens of artists carries their works to the Louvre, attracting tremendous attention. The sculpturer Hong Boyang won gold award, while the painters Han Shuli and Leizhen won silver awards simultaneously.

Han Shuli said that the picture Foresight portraits a goshawk perching high on the Marnyi stone. The name "foresight" expresses blessing and rosy prospect for Tibet and the whole country. The picture is considered as the masterpiece of Han Shuli.

According to Han Shuli, his black ink and wash painting is benefited from the Tibetan black Thangka and the wall painting in the temples of Tibet, while it also integrates some representative elements of the central plain culture. "It is the key to obtain higher achievements of Chinese art that one should be confident to absorb the traditional culture essence, achieve mastery through a comprehensive study of the art, broaden his vision and establish the new form of artistic expressions," said Han.
