As one of the events organized in the 11th Mt. Qomolangma Cultural Tourism Festival, the 2rd "Mt. Qomolangma Beautiful Village Girls" Tourism Image Ambassador Contest is held in Shigatse Prefecture of Tibet on Aug. 28, 2013. Village girls from 11 cities of the Shigatse Prefecture attend the contest, and most of them are common workers and students.

The contest consists of four sections, including national costumes show, fashion show, self-introduction and tour recommendation and talent show. During the contest, each of them shows her special talents to impress the judges and audiences. Some use four languages to make self-introduction and tour recommendation, while others play local songs and dances to show their hometown culture. During the whole competition, modern and fashion elements are indispensable in the talent show, such as the Indian dance and modern dance, which are perfectly performed.

Finally, Sonam Chodron from the Rinbung County wins the champion of the contest, while Kalsang Yudron from the Dingkye County and Baima Lhadron from the Kamba win the runner-up and the third place respectively.

"My competing belief is that travel gets you closer to me while smile gets your heart closer to mine," says Sonam Chodron, the champion of the beauty contest.

The top three girls are all honored to win the awards and hope to promote the tourism culture resources of their hometown on the stage of the festival.

The 11th Mt. Qomolangma Cultural Tourism Festival kicked off on Aug. 26, 2013. During the six days, several activities are held with the purpose of promoting natural and human tourism resources of Shigatse Prefecture to the outside world.
