"Bodpa sengye" dance, unique to local villages of the Gyarong Tibetan area in the Li Xian of Aba of Sichuan Province, southwest China, is a kind of original gorchom circle dance with folk and narrative features.
Emerged in the reigns of Emperor Daoguang of the Qing Dynasty, the "Bodpa sengye" dance has been listed in the catalogue of the state-level intangible cultural heritage.
In order to get a better inheritance and protection, the local government has selected a batch of Tibetan children to be trained and perform the traditional dance regularly.
