The Fifth Month Horse Racing Festival opened in the Shangri-La County of Diqing Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture of Yunnan Province, southwest China on June 11, 2013.

As one of the traditional local festivals, the Fifth Month Horse Racing Festival usually opens on the fifth of May according to the lunar calendar and lasts for three days.

Activities including horse shows, horse racing, archery and crossbow shooting are held during the festival.
