A college student has wrapped up his Tibetan trip, on which he spent only 1,400 yuan with the round-trip train tickets included.
Dai Wei came from Nanjing, capital city of southeast China’s Jiangsu Province. In Dai’s eye, Tibet is a place of blue sky, snow-capped mountains, clear water and people of simplicity.
Five months before the journey to Tibet, he began to build his body, and take part-time jobs to earn money for the trip.
With a 1,500 yuan saving, Dai started the trip on July 3rd, 2012.
The round trip tickets cost Dai more than 400 yuan, which means he had only 1,000 yuan left for dinning, lodging and transportation during the 30-day trip.
For many people, 1,500 yuan could hardly cover the trip. However, Dai made it and he owed it to the kindhearted and hospitable Tibetan residents he acquainted with.
Dai is still grateful recalling the experience in Lhasa. "Once I was sheltering from the rain in a small village in the outskirt of Lhasa, a man let me in his home, treated me dinner and provided me accommodation for free."
Dai spent 17 days in Lhasa and then wandered on the Sichuan-Tibet High Way (also known as the 318 National High Way). And he got back to Nanjing on August 3, 2012.
