Tourism flourishes in quake-hit Aba, Sichuan

Flourishing local tourism has brought in 7.2 billion yuan by receiving over 8.5 million tourists to Aba Qiang and Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture in southwest China's Sichuan province in 2010, statistics shows. Aba witnessed a fast growing tourist industry in 2010 after recovering from the severe damage during the earthquake on May 12, 2008.

Among many of the fabulous tourist destinations in Aba, Jiuzhaigou is the most famous one, known as the "Scenic Spot of Wisdom" in China. It attracted tourists from all over the world with its unique sceneries and established infrastructures after building itself into a tourist brand.

Others, like Tagu glacier, Wenchuan water mill and ancient Qiang-style tribal village also enjoyed high reputation.

Both its number of tourists and tourist revenue in 2010 have increased remarkably, by 65.5% and 77% respectively compared with those of last year.
