Chophel Tsering, an entrepreneur from Rinbung of Shigatse and member of CPPCC Tibet Committee, sees new opportunities in the lately closed

Tibet People's Congress and Tibet People's Political Consultative Conference Sessions.

"It was a fruitful meeting. Our private sector achieved much in the 11th Five-Year Plan period and we look forward to contributing more in  the coming 5 years," he said.

Chophel always kept a low profile despite his very successful career as chairman of a big group involved in construction, real estate, water conservancy, power projects, etc. However, he was willing to share his hope and  ideas for the next 5 years with the reporter.

Chophel's ground-breaking project in the first year of the 12th Five-Year Plan period is to build a brand new town near the Shigatse Airport for those poverty-stricken people in that area. With an estimated investment of 780 million yuan, Chophel hopes it will be made into a base of highland barley planting.
