This temple used to be a Bonist temple that was constructed during the 51st year of Emperor Qianlong's rule in China's Qing Dynasty, however its creator worshipped the Gelug Sect of Tibetan Buddhism, so there was a Gelug Sect temple constructed on one side of the original Bonist temple. After some time, the two temples both became Gelug monasteries, and the total area of the two temples is over 1.33 hectares.
