In pictures: Panchen Lama visits Yunnan Province
The Panchen Lama Bainqen Erdini Qoigyijabu has concluded a seven-day tour (from May 26 to June 1 ) in southwest China's Yunnan Province, where he visited Buddhist sites and conducted rituals and gave blessings to more than 40,000 monks, followers and public visitors.
During the tour, the Panchen Lama visited two local temples including the Sumtsen Ling Monastery, and the Yunnan Institute of Buddhist Studies Diqing Branch in Shangri-la County, the provincial capital of Kunming and the Xishuangbanna Prefecture.
It has been nine years since the Panchen Lama’s last visit to Yunnan Province.
