The Horseshoe Temple, built in the Sixteen States Period(304-439), is located in Yugu Autonomous County of Northwest China’s Gansu Province. The temple, originally a Han Buddhist temple in Northern Liang Dynasty(397-439), is gradually changed into a Tibetan Buddhism temple later. It consists of 7 small-scale grottoes, including the Golden Tower Temple, Thousand-Buddha Cave, Northern and Southern Horseshoe temples, as well as Upper, Middle and Lower Guanyin caves. More than 500 statues and 200-square-killometer murals are well preserved there, which belongs to different dynasties. [Photo/China Tibet Online]
