Research has shown a big increase in the number of Chinese reading books in 2017, with an average of 10.1 e-books read per person, and readers were also found to be more willing to pay for e-books, which increased from 60.3% in 2016 to 63.8% in the last year.

In Tibet, digital reading has also become popular, with more and more people using cellphones, Kindles, or other mobile devices to read digitally. In 2017, Tibet's digital reading index ranked fourth in China.

Besides, the Library of Tibet has a children's reading room, a periodical reading room, an ancient Tibetan archives reading room, etc., with 460 thousand books in its collection, and 100 thousand volumes of Tibetan books and ancient archives, meeting the reading needs of the public.

As resources in the public library are increasingly improved, book bars and reading nooks are also becoming more plentiful. Reading is now a habit for many people in Tibet.
