It is learned that the Research Institute of Scientific and Technological Information in southwest China's Tibet has successively launched the preservation and digitization of traditional Tibetan cultural elements such as architecture, dance, sculpture, thangka painting, murals, and Tibetan medicine.

"At present, we have completed the digitization of more than 2,400 texts and records of Tibetan medical literature. We will also complete the digitization of 10,000 pieces of Tibetan literature over the next three years," said Tsering Norbu, an official with the research institute.

In addition, the institute's 3,200-square-meter scientific research building for the digitization of Tibetan culture and national technology and innovation is also expected to start its construction later this year.

Combined with the ongoing collection and digitization of Tibetan cultural elements, it is expected to be the world's largest digital platform for Tibetan literature.

After the platform is built, the institute will also invite experts from other Tibetan-inhabited areas in northwest China's Qinghai and Gansu Province and southwest China's Sichuan and Yunnan Province, as well as research institutions to carry out related work.
