Wangdrak's Rain Boots, a Tibetan children's film, premiered at Berlin International Film Festival at 10 a.m. local time on February 21 in Berlin, Germany.

The movie was adapted from a short novel written by Tserang Dondrup.

The novel tells the story about Wangdrak, a boy living in the rural area of Tibetan-inhabited regions.

Wangdrak wanted a pair of beautiful rain boots. However, it never rained after he got the boots.

It is learned that the film has been selected in the Generation sector of the 68th Berlin International Film Festival.

"The film reflects a simple thing. Via video language, the film presents the pure dream of a Tibetan child, and provides the outside world a way to get to know Tibetan-inhabited regions," said Lhapal Gyal, director of the movie.

Lhapal Gyal was born in May, 1989 in Hainan Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture, Qinghai Province, and graduated from Beijing Film Academy.

"Though children have different dreams in childhood, they are curious by nature," said Lhapal Gyal.

"Tibetan children's film reflecting the inner world of children is a meaningful attempt," added he.
