The Linden Leaf of Ta’er Monastery published
The five-volume book series, The Linden Leaf of Ta’er Monastery, was recently published by the monastery’s sutra printers of Qinghai Province. The books could be considered a resource for understanding and researching Ta’er Monastery.
First established in 1379, the Ta’er Monastery is located inside the Lianhua Mountains of Huangzhong County in Qinghai Province, where is the birthplace for Tsongkhapa, the founder of the Gelug sect of Tibetan Buddhism, and one of the six major monasteries of the Gelug sect. It is also a renowned center for Tibetan Buddhism events in northwest China and is highly acclaimed in China and southeastern Asia.
According to the monastery’s management committee, the books took more than 10 years to compile, and are written in a concise and approachable format, providing a robust amount of information for research about the Ta’er Monasteryand the history, religion, and political evolution of Tsongkha area ( the historical name of an area in east part of Qinghai)..
