A five-episode documentary on Tibet was nominated as a finalist at the 13th Sichuan TV Station Golden Panda International Documentary Festival held recently, China Tibet News reported.

Director Lhakpa Ouzhu said that the documentary had gradually become a favorite, making Tibet, on the roof of the world, more accessible to the rest of the world. “The documentary has become the most direct and convenient window for the rest of the world to understand Tibet. With these eye-catching details, Tibet has never been so close.”

In March 2015, “The Third Pole” was broadcast. As China’s first large-scale television documentary, it reflects the harmonious relationship between man and nature on the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau. After the screening, it achieved great success at home and abroad. And last year, the documentary “Milky Way”, with the background of the Yarlung Tsangpo River, also became popular on TV and online.

“Because of the trend to seek adventure and cultural differences, the most authentic parts of Tibet are easy to be concealed. So when making a documentary about Tibet, for those of us who live on this land, returning to its original history, respecting the nautre, beliefs and customs is a responsibility we must not shirk,” Lhakpa Ouzhu said.
