Over 500 members of Tibet Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC) submitted a total of 495 proposals in 2015, including 110 ones on culture, according to the 4th Session of 10th CPPCC Tibet Committee held in Lhasa Jan. 26, China News reported.

As Tibet is China’s key ethnic cultural site under state protection, members raised many proposals for promotion of cultural prosperity and development including “repairing high-risk cultural relics”, “supporting the development of cultural industry” and “enhancing cultural identity”.

“The information resources and suggestions contained in many proposals have been included into the policies of the Party Committee and Government of Tibet Autonomous Region over the past year, and some reflected in relevant documents, programs and key work,” said Cemolin Tenzintinley, vice chairman of the CPPCC Tibet Committee, Tibet regional political advisory body.

As China Tibet News reported, this year the CPPCC Tibet Committee members have submitted over 153 proposals on politics, economy, people’s livelihood, environmental protection, culture and other aspects, among which cultural protection is highlighted. Many members suggested accelerating the industrialization of the ethnic handicrafts and strengthening the protection of cultural inheritors.
