An exhibition on southwest China's Tibet was  opened on April 15th at the National Museum of Cultures in Mexico City, the capital of Mexico.

Besides Tibetan intangible  cultural heritages, cultural creations, ethnic clothing,  photos reflecting the majestic sights of Qinghai-Tibet Plateau and lives of people in Tibet and Tibetan calligraphy, art performances and lectures on Thangka paintings and Tibetan songs and dances were also held during the exhibition.

Dela Tsetan, a lecturer at Tibet University's School of  Art, said there're many similarities between Mexican and Tibetan culture, as both have a long history of art and the people also adore art. Both areas are in the plateau region, boasting appealing dance and musical performances.

Qiu Xiaoqi, the Chinese Ambassador to Mexico, said Tibet is not only visually stunning, culturally diverse, it also has a rich and deep history. Visitors to the exhibition will be able to witness the richness of Tibetan culture first-hand. He welcomes the people of Mexico to visit Tibet if they have a chance and experience one of the world's most unique sights.

The exhibition was jointly hosted by the Chinese Embassy to Mexico, the People's Government of Tibet Autonomous Region, and the Chinese Culture Center of Mexico. As one of the events of the 10th  International Friendly Culture Fair (Feria Internacional de las Culturas Amigas 2018) in Mexico City, the exhibition will last  until June 25th. China, as the special guest country of the expo, will also hold several other cultural events.
