Thangka, an original ethnic dance drama of Qinghai Province, staged in Tianjin, Jan. 13, receiving overwhelming response from audience with its unique ethnic features and superb artistic skills.

Thangka is an indispensable part of Regong art of Qinghai Province.

As a painting form of Tibetan culture and art, Thangka boasts unique traditional skills, distinct ethnic characteristics and high artistic and cultural value.

The dance drama Thangka is one of the sponsored project of National Art Found, and is a key project of Qinghai Province of 2017.

Thangka tells the story of the Thangka artists, who inherit and carry forward Thangka art devoutly and persistently, highly praising the true feelings of local people in Qinghai and highlighting the profound Tibetan culture.

The dance drama Thangka started its creation in 2016 and embarked on its tours in Qinghai, Beijing and Tianjin in December, 2017.
