Gongyi Tibetan knife
Gongyi Tibetan knife, boasting a history of 400 years, is known for its craftsmanship and material. Three kinds of iron mined from the local mountain is used to make the body of the knife, while wood collected from the virgin forest nearby is chosen to produce its handle wrapped by fish skin. The Gongyi Tibetan knife, with the length of dozens of centimeters, features long and narrow body as well as sharp blade. It is also handy and not likely to rust. Today the Tibetan knife made in Gongyi Township in southeast Tibet’s Nyingchi Prefecture is still regarded as a treasure since only a few knives can be made by one craftsman within a month.[Photo/Xinhua]
