Border guards take oath for security of upcoming Tibet’s 50th anniversary celebrations
"I swear: We will carry forward the Himalayan guard and anti-quake spirit; keep in mind the purpose of our mission; persevere and not fear hardships or danger; fight together in our quest for victory. We will battle for 8,000 li (4,000 kilometers) and struggle for 60 days and promise to achieve success! Promise to maintain peace and stability on our borders!"
On the afternoon of Jul.12, the border security oath-taking rally to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the establishment of Tibet Autonomous Region took place at the Tibet Border Defense headquarters. Thousands of border defense officers convened in the main meeting room to take a clank oath in front of the national flag with detachment units convening in additional meeting rooms.
Tibet is located on a border and the task of border control is arduous. At the border security oath-taking rally, all border defense officers agreed that they would act in accordance with the "come as quickly as possible, be ready and able to fight, fight to win" requirement. They will go all out and work together to resolutely safeguard the border by building an impregnable fortress.
The Tibet Autonomous Region was established on September 1, 1965.
