Li Wenge, one of China's most wanted fugitives, has returned to China and turned himself in, the anti-corruption authority said Wednesday.

Li, a former taxation bureau worker in southwest China's Yunnan Province, was suspected of contract fraud and fled to Canada in August 2013, according to a statement released by the Communist Party of China Central Commission for Discipline Inspection.

In April 2015, Interpol's National Central Bureau of China released a list of 100 fugitives suspected of involvement in corruption, all of whom are on Interpol's "Red Notice" for international arrest.

Many of the fugitives are former government or state-owned enterprise employees.

Li was number 28 on the list and the 51st to return so far.

"As the 14th International Anti-Corruption day falls Saturday, China is willing to join hands with the international community to fight corruption and capture more fugitives in the future," the statement said.
