The Chinese Consulate in Lagos Thursday presented nine motorcycles to the police, with a pledge of continuous support to security agencies to ensure optimal performance.

The patrol motor bikes and nine air conditioners were presented by Chao Xiaoliang, the Chinese Consul General in Lagos at a ceremony attended by top police officers.

Chao said the Chinese government would support the initiatives and programs to guarantee the safety of the people.

He said the patrol bikes were procured to ensure police formations work optimally in their mandate of safeguarding lives, properties and to aid community surveillance.

The bikes were received by Ibrahim Adamu, the Assistant Inspector General of Police in Lagos, who said the patrol bikes would be put to optimal use by the police.
