Overlooking view of Spring ploughing ceremony in Tibet
Recently, the Spring ploughing ceremony is held all over Tibet. Villagers in Lhoka put on their festival costumes, dancing and singing on the first farmland to celebrate the traditional festival.
It is said that ancestors of Tibetans reclaimed the farmland at the south of Yumbulagang for planting grains about 2,100 years ago, which was seen as the agricultural civilization of Tibet.
