Nearly 10,000 ruddy shelducks migrant to Qinghai Lake

Recently, we captured a group of photos showing nearly 10,000 ruddy shelducks flying over the Qinghai Lake.

Ruddy shelducks, commonly known as yellow ducks, are regarded as sacred ducks by Buddhist devotees.In Spring, ruddy shelducks move to the Qinghai Lake and migrant in mid-late October to marshland in southern Qinghai, southern Gansu and western Sichuan province to spend Winter, with some even flying to India and some staying in Qinghai.

There are a total of 3,000 ruddy shelducks living in the Qinghai Lake area as permanent residents.
